What a gem! We have never stayed in such clean/well equipped self-catering accommodation. Thank you so much eileen! The weather wasn't bad (Feb) and we enjoyed Clearwell Caves, Go Ape, Puzzlewood, Sculpture Trail - also chased the Severn Bore! No problem keeping active teenagers entertained here... will highly recommend to friends. Codd family, Hampshire.

Had a successful birdwatching trip, enjoyed Puzzlewood, Caerleon & Caerwent, also Westbury Water Gardens. Found lovely car park by River Severn in Newnham. Very good base for the Forest here, and lovely setting. Having a 'back'

Such a lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, we just had to come back for a second visit. The weather was much kinder this year and we’re so glad we made it to the Monmouthshire show. This is a lovely place to have a family reunion and a calm restful holiday. Accommodation was most comfortable – we even learnt how a dishwasher works! Everyone we met was extremely kind and welcoming. There are plenty of places nearby to spend as much time as available to sightsee, walk and enjoy. We have had a great week in “Cowshed” which is so well equipped, comfortable and well cared for. We enjoyed good outings especially Symonds Yat, Raglan Castle and The Kymin. Above all the views and the peacefulness, loved the sheep too! A special day was our last day here when we found the walk down to Newland via the “burial path”! The church is beautiful and we had a very good lunch at ‘The Ostrich’. A. Bright, Norfolk.

We have had a fantastic week at Cowshed Cottage – a beautiful location. We enjoyed trips to some wonderful castles at Chepstow, Caerphilly, Raglan, Goodrich and Tintern Abbey. We did an amazing 14 mile cycle ride around the Forest of Dean – some challenging uphill climbs for our 10 year old, but well rewarded by the superb downhill sections and a beautiful picnic spot all to ourselves at the highest point. Highly recommend the ‘Rally round the Forest’. Juliet, Mark & family.

Once again a most enjoyable holiday. Eileen and John have made sure that there is everything you may need at “Cowshed”, a lovely cottage. Puzzlewood is worth a visit, a day earlier and we would have seen the BBC filming new series of Merlin. We haven’t been disappointed with any of the visitor attractions and when it comes to walks, you really are spoilt for choice, Nagshead, Mallards Pike, New Fancy – ask Eileen for the ones on the doorstep. Nice to watch the Buzzards out of the lounge window – we saw four! Thank you very much (for now) Graham & Barbara.

Had a lovely active week. Cottage is fantastic, everything here we needed. Highlights included 16-mile canoe down the River Wye with fantastic scenery, biking through the Forest of Dean and the kids loved ‘Go Ape’!

Excellent accommodation with everything we needed. A friendly and helpful host was on hand if needed. We love this area, our top activity was walking through the forest with 2 llamas and donkey and trap on hand for a ride…ask Eileen for info on this trip!
